need new oil lines

The dry sump tank mounts on this new Rocket chassis sit about 2 feet farther back than on my old car.

What's the cheapest way to get new dry sump line ? I can reuse all the old AN fittings.

I'd look at buying fabric lines with push on fittings... I have used this stuff on oil and fuel lines with good results.

Make sure that the ones you buy will pull a full vacuum, and or make sure you put in the inserts. I have always used hose rated for a full vacuum but have heard horror stories from guys having a line suck closed and killing a motor.

I'm not seeing vacuum ratings on any line anywhere .. only pressure rating (usually 1,000 PSI)

Hopefully the link works, but it list inches of mercury of vacuum they can pull. Most any manufacture should be able to get them to you or somewhere hidden on their website.

That looks like it's specific to their fittings, but I need something I can reuse the heavy investment I already have in reusable AN-12 fittings. Those suckers are *expensive* !

Aeroquip stainless -10 and above is full vacuum rated. Many other brands are as well. I don't risk it so only buy my hose from a dealer than knows the source. Chances are you would be fine with eBay hose but you never know. One option which may or may not save you money is to buy stainless steel insert coils that keep it from collapsing and then use wavered hose works with your fittings.

Fittings and hoses can get pricey but it is a vital piece of the race car, so I don't risk it.

When the tank to pump line gets over 30" long you should go to a -16 line.There is differences in lines from mfg. to mfg. that cause me huge problems' with a -12 line.I picked up a -16 line to -12 fitting on ebay then bought new hose.

^^^ I was actually thinking that too in reading your thread. I was looking at some pics of a car on Racingjunk.com and it had the tank mounted forward. I guess as long as you have clearance around the fifth coil, why not (aside form moving weight forward)?

Yah I think that's what I'll do. It's only going to move about 25# from slightly behind the X to slightly in front of the X (2 feet forward), for my purposes that won't make enough difference to justify replacing all my oil line that is working perfectly right now.
