So more or less caster is ideal? Not sure what it does and why

think about it this way,if you run a bunch of caster,it will load the rf and the lr when you counter steer(turn right),so what happens when you start to go down the straightaway and pull the wheel to the left? it unloads the lr and the rf (car gets free off the corner)
with that said there are other factors there too,its not a fix all,we use caster split as a driver feel thing(how much we want it to pull to the right or left, when you let go of the wheel) and thats about it

So if you are struggling on exit because of no traction, and have low caster numbers. Do I need more?

i would work somewhere else, caster is mostly a driver feel thing,if you don't have traction off the corner pm me with you complete setup and i will try to help

Also going softer on right front you can not preload left rear spring at all. It cause you to loose side bite.
