is it best to run the rearend square or to trail the rr?

I have run a camaro both straight up and with a 1/4" trail on the right rear. I felt like the trail did help on a short track (1/4 mile). I run a 1/4" lead in the left now due to running a longer shackle and block Seems to work on a big 3/8ths pretty decent and keeps the left from trailing on the throttle.
