another trans question.

hi, I'm in the process of building a street stock and I need some input on what transmission I should use. we can run any automatic or manual trans setup, factory or aftermarket. all I have now is a flexplate and pedal assembly from when the car had a powerglide in it. this will be on a 1/4 mile dirt track, 383, 3000lb car. thanks.

tongonietranny is junk. I owned 3 at one time and was dealing with replacing them non stop, the shift mechanism he is rigging is sub bar at minimum. I put in a new one at the track that was my spare and it didnt work properly.
