    any ideas,

my motor keeps dyeing. it will sit and idle just fine, sounds real responsive. runs fine untill i drive it and smash the gas. seems like with the secondary kicks in on the carb it dies. it is fine as long as im on the gas but the minute i lift the motor shuts down. its a 383 (500 hp) with a 750 ct quick fuel carb. any help would be great.

make sure your fuel filter is flowing the right way, check the pick up in the cell too... something isnt flowing enough fuel and the engine is running off the fuel in the bowls, but the fuel system isnt filling the bowls back up quick enough

sounds like your saying it dies when you get off then back on the gas? that would be your accelerator pumps, the butterflies open quick and let in a lot of air you need the added fuel of the acc pump or pumps to feed the extra fuel at that time!

did you mean dying? check your engine or accelerator pump.
