Any suggestions on engine location in a 3000 lb Super Stock, metric car ? How high or low does it need to be mounted ? And what advantages and/or disadvantages does it make when mounting it at different heights and also how much of an angle does it need to be mounted at ? Thanks for any help and information.

Raising the motor puts more leverage on the right front. I'm assuming this is a dirt car so that's what you want. The motor in our metric car is raised about 2ish inches over stock. We run a glide with a standard urethane Energy Suspension mount which is mounted on a straight piece of angle iron 1 1/2 inches above the bottom of the frame rail. Not sure what that angle is but it is higher than stock. This setup really helped our car turn and prevented several breakage problems we had with the glide.
As for moving the motor back.....If you have a stock fire wall than the small gain you get from moving the motor an inch or so is not worth the headache of moving it.... and having to notch for the fuel pump and slicing the lower mounts so the chassis headers fit and.........JMOComment

The engine needs to be angled down in the back by 5 degrees. That would be level at the carb flange with an aftermarket manifold. It is so you get proper oil drain back without creating windage with the spinning crank.Comment
