    Bottom Trailing Arm Question

Just curious if anyone has experimented and had success or failure with a really long mount on the left rear bottom trailing arm, getting the connecting point as far away from the housing as possible; while using a stiff spring (11" 300lb) or a tall soft spring (16" 175lb), or stacking springs? The goal in mind would be to keep the LR planted for drive off. Thoughts? Harsh remarks?
