rearend width question

    rearend width question

    on a ford 9in, i know most people are running 58in or 60in rearend widths on metric cars when taking that measurement where is this measured from is it from the flanges on the housing it's self or is it measured on the face of the axle across to the other axle face

      i have a housing that measures 56 1/2in without axles, would that be a 60in rearend

        Im not real sure buddy i would say it is but realy iv never missed with a stock axle ford wev always bn allowed 2 run the floaters

          thay had at lest 2 defernt back spaced backin plates so you need axles to get exact in width

            I meassured an old disc brake lincoln rearend out back and the flanges were about an inch and a half from the tube!! if its close to yours then its about 60inch
