9" rearend question

I have a ford 9" non floater rearend housing, it measures 53" from flange to flange, I was planning on putting this under a camaro with 2" and 3" backspacing wheels, my question is, will this width work? I noticed all the other rearends measure 58"-60" are they measuring the same way I did, or are they measuring from axle end to axle end? Thanks

They are measuring from wheel mounting surface to wheel mounting surface, axle face to axle face.
