looking for a starting point on rear springs and shocks for a metric

i have been runnin camaros for 12 to 13 years. i am stumpped on a rear sprong and shock setup for my new metric chassis. the guy that installed cage says he would start with a 225 250 spring and a 7-3 and 5-5 valving. dunno sounds a lil heavy to me. but then again driving a metric is night and day from a camaro. the camaro was a 150 and 175 with a 6 3 valve and a 5 5 valve and sometime a stock shock with a hole drilled in it.

just looking for a place to start and work from thanks yall

if 3000 or less: LR 250 and RR 200....if 3200 or more LR 275 and RR 225. shocks would be the same on both RR a 3-3 or 4-4 and LR 5-3 or 6-2. Goodluck!

i think i should have gave a lil more info. we have to be 3400lbs after race with driver. the track is a tight turned 1/4mile with relatively long streights the turns have less than 15degree of banking maybe 12degrees at the center top of the middle of the turn. i belive on the front i am gonna start with a 1250rf and 1100lf and a ak 4040lf and a ak3050rf.

on the 3400lb car think 275 and 250 would work and our rules limit us to 13in springs and no pigtails. i found a 3030 rear shock in a blistine does anyone else make them like afco qa1 it has to be a stock replacement racing shock no heim ends.

Ya a little stiff......I would be in the range of 1050-1100 for RF and 950-1000 for LF

i have front springs from 800 up to 1400 i was just talking to some local guys and they are in the 1200 1250 and 1000 1100 range my camaro we had 1400 and 1000 and it worked like a champ. so should i look into 1000 and 900 range ???

the higher the banking you would increase front springs on the flip side the less banking the lower the spring! Usually the split between the springs is not any more than 150 on the front and no more than 75 in the back. Try different set-ups on play day to get it right to your driving style! Good Luck!
