Front end weight

I am looking to lose some weight off the front end. I have chevelle lower control arm, camaro spindles, stock rotors and brakes. How much weight could I shave off by changing to wide 5 spindles and hubs. Thanks

Much of your final weight will depend on what spindles you go with, tall, short, who makes them...

More importantly, easier and cheaper is have you picked up all low hangin fruit you can? Meaning all bolts are trimmed, aluminum body panels or hood, lw brackets and braces... These things may be easier and give you better results.

What are your rules? I can get my front end light enough that all my lead needs to be ahead of the fuel cell or i will have to much rear %. Our weight rule is 2950 and i race at 2975.

Found out yesterday, they changed it back to wide 5 plates only on the front. OEM spindle and hubs. I have already shaved everything I can off. About 150#. Mostly from changing the front bumper. I am going back with a all aluminum body. Our weight is 2800# or 2700# with a 602. I am not ready for the scales at this time. Last year my weight was 3055# with a stock steel body skin. With only 49% rear. I stayed in the top five all year. Finished second in the points. Just looking to make it better without having to add so much weight to get it to 51%. Thanks

Have you thought about switching to pinto spindles and metric calipers. Also, the mid 70's Cadillac is the same geometry with lighter components.

Speedway sells the complete kits. You could call them and get the shipping weight.

Lightweight control arm bushings will save you about 5 lbs.
