    I need help with gearing for a street stock on a 5/8 mile track

    I would ask other racers there, way too many variables for a guy on here to guess..

    tire roll out, rpm desired, cubic inch etc.

      ball park is 5.67's or 5.83's..i run a big half mile almost a 5/8 and i turn 6500 with a 358, 3400lb car. I went to 67's late last year, got the motor down in the tq range more.

          Just making sure it's not a typo, 5\8 track not a 3\8 ???? That's a huge track !!!

              Selinsgrove Pa. Pro Stocks mostly run 5.43. It's a BIG half mile, (actually closer to 5/8) 355 motor 2bbl 8 inch tire

                Golden Isles was an oil based 5/8th's back in the day, took around a 5.13. When they put clay on it, went to a 5.67.

                  yeah the track i'm running at is bedford speedway in PA. I'm going to tired 5.67 the first nite

                    @spy see you the 15th! Ive heard of guys running anywhere from 5.67's to 6.20's at bedford, im sticking to my 67's.

                      I have a 9" 3rd member built by JR Motorsports. It has a Ford case, Motive Light Weight 6.00 gear, Ultra-Light Weight Full 31 spline spool, New Timkin bearings with solid spacer (not crush sleave) New Short-Wide yoke, bought wrong gear, only 6 races on gear, paid $680 shipped.                         We run 5.83's at Bedford, turn around 6,900rpm with 90-92" rollout tires. (358 ci)
