700R4 transmission in Enduro car

Has anyone had any experience running a 700R4 transmission in 2nd gear for extended periods of time. We're building an Enduro car (91 Caprice) and I'm leary of this trans since we've never used one.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I was told (not 100% positive) the 700R4 is basically a TH350 with overdrive, for an enduro just fill it with synthetic fluid, use an external cooler, & it should be fine.
