I'm looking for advice into cam selection for a built motor to compete with the 602. I race at a 1/3 mile oval and it has tight corners slightly banked. My motor is a 358 with World Product heads with Scatt crank and rods, flat top pistons, 2101 intake and 4412 carb HEI ignition, now I have Isky cam lift 485 duration 232 at 106 lobe, and I am getting pulled out of the corner by anybody with a 602, need help selecting a cam that can provide enough stump pulling power to match or beat the 602. Any help would be great.

Some tracks in my area are letting racers use the EQ Vortecs. We ran a set on a llm for 2 years with no problems . Our engine builder really liked them for our application. It made 512hp with flat tops and 3310 Holley.Lions don't worry about the opinions of sheep.

First off this web site logs me out before i finish . We race with a built motor Have to wt. 3300 . 602s 3000 . we pull a 6:83 gear and turn 6800 to 7000 . 602s pull a 6:50 gear and turn 6600 to 6800 . Now i know none of these are cheated up 602s . Not . I would like to run one of there motors and lose 300 lb. and pull the same gear . They should be on the valve float . Last year we had a motor that turned 7600 plus with the same gear . Won some races . I guess over the winter i will build a 7:20 gear for next year .
