Will a metric that was used on pavement work on dirt ?

I have a metric that was raced on pavement do they normaly run lighter springs then what you would want on a dirt track?

A pavement car is generally built with a stiffer chassis than a dirt car. The front RC will need to be adjusted. Spring wise will depend on the track your going to race on. You will want to loose the sway bar if it has one. But yes, it can be raced on dirt, but obviously a chassis designed for dirt from the start would be best. The weight and stiffness would be the issue for me.
