    CC question

    I have a 2.3 bored .040 with a 2.5 crank with 5.7 rods.Can anyone tell me how many CC's that would be? Thanks.

    stock is 2491CC,the rod length will not change the CC,and its a 2.5,no matter what block was used...all you have to do is figure out how many CC's .040 would be,and multiply that by 4(number of cylinders).
    No matter how hard you try...you cant fix stupid!!!

      maybe you should have learned how to calculate the volume of a cylinder which your high school attempted to teach you had you been paying attention.

        It's been 37 years since I took my last algebra class.I do not trust my memory to get all the calculations right,but I do know how to Google ( How to calculate the volume of a cylinder) or any other question I may have.

            it's in all 8th and 9th grade math curriculums in the USA. Besides if you learn how to google a question, you can find your answer without even posting.

                Given that stock displacement is 2491cc (thanks car62), a .040 oversize should net you 2517cc.


                (.040 oversize divided by stock bore of 3.78 gives you 1.05% increase ... with the stroke being constant, multiply stock displacement of 2491cc by 1.0105 gives you 2517)

                    .7854 x 3.820 x 3.820 x3.401 x 4 =155.9 cubic inches. That converted to cc's is approx a 2550. Oh yeah and i googled all that info,so tell Goober i said duh huh!!!!Thanks to all those that tried to help.Why do you have forums when you got google???? dont make sense does it.

                          cc question

                          Do they make a tool to check the cc of your motor if it is allready built? I bought a 2.3 and everyone at our track says it's a 2.5. I have seen the tech officals checking the v-8 motors with a type of vaccum tube? where can I get one or how can you check this on a motor that is complete and in a car? thanks.

                            you could pump one cylinder to get the volume of it and then multiply that by 4.
                            That's what the tracks normally do to check displacement without tearing you down.



                            I'm sure someone on here could tell you how to make a homemade one.
