is it the early 2.0 with 3 cam towers..or is it a newer 2.0 from a Ranger?
No matter how hard you try...you cant fix stupid!!!

If you build it right...it will turn left!!!

There is a problem straight away. The 2300 head will lower the compression ratio unless it has been skimmed a lot. Better to use a 2000 head on the 2000 engine and skim some off it to increase the compression ratio even more.

To my knowledge, the 2.3 head will not fit an early 2.0 pinto block. They will fit a ranger 2.0, but I think tom is right, you need to get all the compression you can, and the late 2.0 is better for that, on that block.

Danny, I believe that the Ranger 2.0 came with a Closed Chamber Round Port head. We have one that we cut to 38 cc's and put on a 2.3 and got plenty of compression. In fact we run that intake I got from you on it. Robertms

Right on Bob, I had a couple of those heads too. If you can get them to good compression they work fine. on the 2.3 block. Glad you have made that intake work.
