best advice: quit while your ahead.
Every ¼ mile track is different and requires different ratios. You should first determine what your final drive is.
Most likely you'll need to run 215/60/15 tire for a decent rpm. Another option is to go with a Gen2 neon trans. that'll give you a 6.92:1 final drive and probably perfect for most 1/4 mile tracks with 13 or 14" wheels

trans
Could you give me more info about which 2nd gen neon trans would fit onto a first gen eclipse motor? There seems to be a lot of different versions. Thanks in advance.

calculations
This may seem like a dumb question especially since I'm getting into racing and I'm going to school to be a diesel tech. But how do you calculate the final ratio. And does the tire size affect it or do you set ur final ratio based on ur tire size. I mean I can work on it and figure out how to do stuff just dont know about stuff like that.
Thanks

I guess you have a problem with helping out people that are just getting started and want to moan and groan about the way they type. You must be one of those bang bang get the hell out of my way type drivers like Joe Reed.Originally posted by pobort View Postthe fact that you cant spell out YOU'RE and have to use "ur" tells me you're just to lazy to put forth the effort needed to race competitively. If you are paying for school, get your money back, it's apparent that it's a waste of time/money.

A 94 eclipse is a first generation, the engine is completely reversed from a 2nd generation. Am I understanding you correctly that you are saying to put a 2nd gen engine in a first gen car?
