    Intake Manifold Question

Hey guys, when I bought my roller car the guy that I bought the car from threw in this intake manifold. I have been using it but other than the part # I don't know a whole lot about it so I was curious as to what some of you all might know. Also, in your professional opinions, is it worth a hoot. I use it on a ford 2.3 engine of which I believe the head came from an 80 pinto. Thanks. The part # is 1-3-4-2 D42E9425-AE. The link is for a picture of one just like mine.

Of the three choices for stock carb manifold, the one you have is the best provided that the ports match the heads. The first four digits of your "part number" is actually the firing order, 1-3-4-2, the rest is actually the casting number for what is referred to as a D4 intake. The D is for the decade of the '70s and the 4 means it was first released in 1974. It was used on 2.3's til the D9 was released in 79. The E1 came out in 1981 with D-shaped ports for the D-port head. The E1 and D9 have a Z pattern on the bottom of the plenem instead of the series of lines in your intake. The later plenums were smaller in volume too, making your intake the best stock carb manifold.
Oval racing helps you unwind because you race counter clockwise.
