    Ford 2.3 Question

Ford ministock 2.3 started losing water. Could not figure out where it was going. Finally saw some stain on exhaust side of head. removed the header bolts and water poured out. Replaced the header bolts with studs and the water stopped. Anyone had the same problem? Can't figure out if we have a head gasket leak, there was water in all bolt holes, or if we have a cracked head. Again, once we replaced the bolts with studs the water stopped and there never was a performance issue at all. Figure it out?

What bolt is it on the head? Upper, Lower and which cylinder. Sounds like there is a crack in the head.

Sounds like somebody used bolts that were too long to hold the header and busted through to water through the threads. Probably won't hurt anything until you pull the header off.
