I was thinking of destroking my crank from a stock rod journal to a 2" journal by offset grinding. Not to help the engine run better necessarily, but so I can take some weight off the car. It's a 2300 ford in a Mustang. How many cc's can be lost this way?

With a 3.8" bore on the 2300, de-stroking .040" would decrease your total engine capacity by right at 30cc. So...... at 1#/cc, you could remove 30# from the car. Or, budget permitting, go to the extreme & pay ~$1,600 for a 2.75" ADI Esslinger de-stroker, plus rods & pistons, to reduce the engine capacity by 719cc. But I doubt you'd be able to take that much weight out of your Mustang to take full advantage of the much smaller engine size. -Dave-
