I have a question on a Ranger 2.3 D port closed chamber heads. I pulled this head from the junk yard and found a plug in it I have never seen. This is the first head I have pulled from a Ranger. The plug was an Autolight AP2545. The thread starts up about ¼ of an inch from the top of the plug then goes up about another ½ inch. From this there is a taper up to the hex for the plug wrench.
Is there something different o nthe ranger heads in comparison to the mustang head in terms of the plugs? Will the standard Champion plugs, RS9YC, I use in the Mustang heads work? If not what should I look at?
