    Ford 2.3L intake

I need an EFI intake and am wondering which year/part # works best. I have a round port intake but it wont work with the D-port head Im using. Any help greatly appreciated.

Also, who makes a good affordable carb spacer, using OEM 350 cfm 2 bbl carb.

We found just the opposite working with as cast ports, stock size valves to about the .500 lift area. the EFI intake worked best and was the best balanced. The D-port carb intake was a little less but not to bad we tested the one with the Z cast into the bottom. The Esslinger flowed slighly more but the inside 2 got way more air than the outside and the D-port intake worked well on a oval port head also.

The head has stock size valves, .440 lift hyd. cam, milled .150, mild porting. Going on a D4 block, .030 over w/KB flattop pistons, stock rods/crank. Hoping to hit mid 7s.
Rules only say stock, track barely techs other than car weight & tire size. They have never looked under the hood of my car & I run top 5 most nites.

not doubting your work at all but we have had lots of dyno time and flow bench we own both and have not got any good results out of the efi with out a turtle and alot of port work air speed was really slow! best results on stock intakes was the d4 oval it was even good on d port! we have really good combos with those rules won around 15 or so races a year at lots of different tracks we traveled didnt stay at one track and it was really good combo! dirtman pm me if interested ill share with you, we dont run that class much anymore!

Tried sending a PM, not sure if it went through. I assumed an oval port intake/D port head combo would NOT work well due to the fuel hitting the lower part of the head, having to 'jump' up into the engine.

The best of the carb manifolds is the one with the lines in the bottom, getting hard to find. There is 2 basic EFI manifolds. If you're porting won't matter which you get. If stock unmolested is needed look for the one that does not have any ridges / angle in the ports. They both have the same part number cast into them. I've never notice if there is a difference in the engineering number.
As to EFI / Carb manifold Holley adapters, you might look on www.powerbyace.com

my preference depends on the size of the track and rpm range. small 1/4 and under or a track with a wide rpm range i prefer the efi modified like joe stockton did along with one of his adaptors. next is the d-port carb intake. on longer tracks where the rpms are in a smaller range then do like old rob and others said and use the straight line oval intake. this is on unported intakes.
