For those of you that may not know, or don't subscribe to Speedway Illustrated for the article, there are 'fake' MSD-6AL's being sold on the Internet & through various parts outlets. Some of the ignition components are accurate copies, including the box & parts bag inside. Fortunately, there are currently (3) easy ways to identify the fakes. But that might change in the future. #1: All of the current counterfeits have the common Serial number 682013. #2: The fake units use Phillips screws instead of the real MSD Torx screws. #3: The outgoing connection/wiring harness & the plug input are reversed in position at the end of the box, compared to the REAL MSD unit. Buyer Beware! -Dave-
