Anyone ever build a dodge?

We have a driver building a Dodge Dakota for the Empire Sport Truck Series this year. It has an injected 2.5 liter engine. Has anyone ever messed around with 2.5 dodge engines, or a dakota race truck?

The board curmudgeon 22Dodge knows the ins and outs of the 4cyl Dodges better than anybody.

Nobody racing 4cyl pickups our way ever tried due to a rule against rack and pinions and roller lifters at our tracks.

Again the issue will be too much incentive to cheat in a bone stock class.A cam/valvespring swap,a head cut and eliminating the computer rev limiter will SMOKE anybody bone stock.

A lot of stock sporty passenger car cams,Comp Ratio/factory redlines etc are pretty good performers and work well at the track but the pickups of any brand are pretty dang conservative and just about anything you do makes them faster.
