Spent some time on the dyno today(ford 2300). We would lose about 1/2 quart of oil per dyno pull. The oil is entering the water jacket but no water is getting to the oil. The head is the same as last year but the block is all new. I have not torn it down yet but is it possible that machine shop forgot a plug some where? May be a headgasket?
Help, rapid oil loss

Water in the oil is usually a bad head gasket.Originally posted by Gofast21 View PostSpent some time on the dyno today(ford 2300). We would lose about 1/2 quart of oil per dyno pull. Oil in the water passages can mean a cracked block. Time to tear it back down IMO.

Thanks guy's. I tore it down and it was a bad head gasket. The gasket didn't have the steel ring around the oil passage and was clearly the issue. I'm going to install another gasket and shorten the locater and the head bolts even more. Then give it a try.
