Tight Entry Shock Help

We can't find anything definitive on shocks for a dirt Application like a tuning guide that tailors to a 3 Link we have found conflicting tuning guides from brand brand that tells us what to change we have a very slightly tight racecar on entry and want to make a front shock change we have recently purchased two new Pro Shocks a WB 7" Stroke 4/6 and a 6/6 to replace the current 5's across the LF and RF where should these go to help us out? Its a Mod 4, 3 link with a long panhard bar the car is extremely close just want to do a shock tweak. We will run in the wet to tacky track and we enter the corner off throttle. HELP we race tomorrow

You'd want the 4/6 on RF and 6/6 on LF. Hard telling if your tight entry is shock related though

I think it would be more effective to help your tight on entry by adjusting brake bias, 1st try more rear bias to help loosen it up on entry you can also put a shut off valve on the right front or even a proportioning valve to reduce braking on the right front. just my opinion

Adding a stiffer shock gives similar results as a stiffer spring.

Put 4/6 on LF, 6/6 on RF.

What does car weigh? That is a lot of compression for that type of car.

Two books could very well be a big help for your dirt race car. Stock Car Setup Secrets by Bob Bolles. Circa 2001 by CRD Publishing (386)677-5384. No ISBN is given for this, his first book. The most recent book; HPBooks, Stock Car Setup Secrets, for both pavement & dirt. ISBN: 1-55788-401-3 . If you haven't read/studied these books, you'll be surprised regarding the 'myths' going around out in the 'field' with respect to chassis tuning. Both pavement & dirt. And Bolles does a fine job dispelling those myths and revealing the 'truth' about how to correct the bad info with respect to chassis tuning. Amazon lists all the Bolles (author) books. -Dave-
