    Hyd. to solid lifters

2.3 with 450 lift hyd. cam. If I just change to solid lifters will it perform the same or will it hurt performance?

Perform the same or hurt performance?

    Interesting Question.

    For no gain, why Bother.

Some cams claim to be able to be run as either, but unless the accel/decel ramps are appropriate, the results won't be exciting. A purpose ground solid cam with the proper geometry and springs will give the best results.

Theoretically a solid lift cam will rev higher and allow a more agressive profile. The optimum, in my opinion, is a proper aftermarket roller cam set-up.
