    high oil pressure

My oil pressure seems high. I have 65 psi at idle (cold) and have 80 psi at 6000 rpm (cold) on the trailer. Can i still race with this amount of oil pressure. I usually turn 6800 rpm. I know once warmed up it will go down a little. I am using melling m86c and 5w30 oil??? If there are no dangers with running like this i will go race. Cannot look at the oil pump before next week.

never rev it up until water temp is at least 180...that said, when i fire mine up it has close to 80 cold at an idle, once warmed up its about 55 at idle and about 65 under racing rpms...and i turn about 76-7800..i use synthetic 20W50

When i went on the dyno i had 65 psi when making pulls to 6000 rpm with engine warm. However i have not gone racing yet. If i have 70 psi at 6800 rpm then i should be alright???
