i thought solid lifters would be better,,,i have set that i got from esslinger with a 500 lift cam..here is the problem the locking nuts loosen up after a few laps and the followers come off.this has happen several times this year.by the way i tried lock tight on them ,,still same problem.any suggestions?

If valvetrain geometry and everything is right. Go through and set the lash with the mousetrap springs and clips removed. After setting the lash on one valve, remove the follower and torque to 60 ft. lbs. Stick the follower back in and check lash to verify. Go through each one in this manner. Once you have them all torqued to 60ft/lbs with the lash appropriate for each valve/remove all the followers *marking them of course so you put the same follower back on the same valve location. Install the clips and install the followers and mousetraps.If for some reason they now back off........which I doubt they will......you will need to verify that you don't have another problem occurring. If your head was setup with the proper installed heights for the springs, with the correct stem heights for the valves, you should be good to go.BUCKLE UP NOW, YA HEAR?
