Most of the machine work needed on a 2.3 can be done at your local engine machine shop.Any shop that repairs heads, bores blocks, that has a good reputation.Know in advance what you want them to do and how much, don't let them decide for you.Purchase the parts you want to use in advance, valves ,valve springs, retainers,so they can machine the head for these parts. You can save hundreds of dollars this way.
