    Plug gap-tire pressure

    What is the best gap on a Autolite standard Plug for a Pump gas motor with 500cfm carberator, also Need a tight set up, Set up needs to be for the Pinto all we need is tire pressures,

    If the ignition system is a decent aftermarket, with a good coil, try a plug gap of .040". Tight setup? Put the car on scales. A decent starting point would be a cross-weight of 2-3% above the rear weight %. I.E. rear weight 49% = a cross-weight of 51-52%. Tire pressures? Depends on the tires you're using. Treaded or flat surface? Do you have a tire pyrometer to measure tire temps across (3) points on the surface? Inside/middle/outside. -Dave-
