    2300 missing

I have a 2300 with 5.2 rods .030 over ran great only have 5 races on motor. Went to load it on the trailer to go racing this weekend. It started up great but then started sputtering and died. Now I can get it to start up but it has a bad miss. I found it to be the number 1 cylinder it's getting spark and plenty of fuel and advice would help greatly. I haven't done a compression test yet.

Could be a bad spark plug within the #1 cylinder under running pressure, or a problem with the valves seating in #1. Yes, a compression test is in order. -Dave-

I switched out spark plugs with no luck still same issue I also changed plug wire. Could the distributor cap be bad? Or maybe a burnt valve? I'm doing a compression test tonight when I get off work. What's a normal good compression spec to got by? Head is shaved 125thousandths.

Yes, do the compression test. The cylinder in question should have the same compression as the other three cylinders. If there is bad compression pull off the valve cover and see if there hasn't been a rocker arm come off or broke or even a broken valve spring. Let us know what you find.

No compression on that cylinder. I closed both valves and filled cylinder up with air and it blows out the exhaust port. Going to pull the head off next. Thanks for the help
