Just put back on my ND alternator. Top wire (charging) direct to the battery. It has got to be excited and I know which terminal that is. Where should I pull the 12volts from to "excite" it. I thought I could just jump from the charging pole, but an alternator guy told me I needed to have a "switch" in the line so I don't burn out the diodes(?) Was thinking I could just pick up power off the coil. Tried the negative side, but it didn't really work. Didn't pull enough current apparently. Any suggestions? Thanks
