Cam question

Trying to figure cam size to use & wondering if there is some sort of on-line link to help with that. Looks like there lots of options, but trying to get close. Thanks!!F-9

First, what are your track rules? This board is an excellent source for help. You might also try Jerry at Schneider Cams. Great guy and he can recommend something if you have your engine particulars and track info.

Thanks for the reply & info!! Track is 4/10 banked dirt. 2.3, .040 over, stock crank, 5.7 rods, stock valve size, but heavy milling on the head. Stock efi intake with holley 4412 carb. 327 rear gear (might go 1 step lower) & 214 transmission. would like to turn around 8 or so.....

you say stock valves, so im assuming there is no port work? if there is no port work,ditch that EFI intake...in stock trim they barely qualify to become a door stop or tire block...and id also go down to a holley 350 carb

take a look at Lunati cams also. Running one myself on a 4/10 paved, flat oval and am very happy with it. Also prepping a Schneider cam for use with a different head. the Lunati is 550/530 lift and I max out at about 7700 using a 7:55 final drive.
