winters quick change rearend setting for axle spacing?

Set the axles to have very little play, although it holds axles in rearend well, so well that it took both the seals out that go around the axles, in the housing too far, so help me out on adjustment, do i need to install bolts? run them in tight so just the head of bolt sticks out to give some clearance, any help would be appreciated, thanks

Not sure if I'm reading this right.

Bolts should be on the inside end of the axles, adjusted to leave about an 1/8 inch clearance from the cover on each end. Axle should never touch the seals, other than on the flat surface. Clearance is for length change as the axle heats up.
