static high left front ride height

I saw a lot of static high left front ride heights on Hughes and Vanderbuilt cars in Humboldt last week but they do not race high....how are they doing this and what are they trying to achieve???...seems like to me every time I raise LF it takes drive out of the car and raises left side of rear deck.
