GM Steering Box?

What happens inside a GM PS Box when it turns more one direction than it does the other? The splines are not twisted on pitman shaft.

If you are checking this on the car, it could just be a toe issue. Set pitman arm to be in line with idler facing forward. Adjust left front wheel straight. Set the toe off of the right front. If box is on the bench you may have an internal issue .
