J -bar question

I've noticed a few guys running a double sided frame mount and running a longer J-bar to the outside holes. Advantages or disadvantages??

May be wrong on this but I believe it moves the rear roll center further left, which tightens you up on entry by keeping the left rear loaded. I guess it would probably tighten you all the way through but I'm not totally sure. Chassis builder told me it helps guys who don't like to trail brake and prefer to drive in deeper and then dump the throttle.

OK another question (I'm new to the 4 bar thing) How does the short (straight) bar mounted to the Left side of the pinion, react different from a J bar.

Makes traction really quick but you lose it just as quick down the straightaway. I think guys have a lot of luck with it on short tracks that get really slick. It can also be very erratic if you're not super smooth on and off the throttle.

Thanks, that's kinda what I thought. The guys I see running it are lifting the left wheel pretty high.

Most shorty bars have a lot of angle in them and the j-bar doesn't. The angle helps the LR get up on the bars faster for more left rear bite. More angle also helps pull the axle to the left for more bite on exit.
