    pullbar preload

What does putting more preload into a spring or bushing do?

On a straight rate spring preload really doesn't effect it because the rate should stay the same unless you preload it so much that it will coil bind but will take more than a few turns,on a progressive spring or bushing when you preload it raises the bottom number for example 600-1200 the more preload the more the 600 number will go up how much is anyone guess i'm sure there is a formula but alot of folks will tighten the progressive spring up for heavy and loosen it back up for dryslick.
