metric spring help???

LF spring 900 RF 1000 and back springs is LR 225 and RR 200, still has a little push in the corners? how to fix it?

Gonna need more info. Those rates don't look way bad, I run 800-900 across front but I'm on a 2 link swing arm LR and my car seems to like the rates.
I would suggest before ya throw springs at it make sure the base is correct. Get it right on scales, cherck front end settings ect. Can't stress esnough bout proper brake adjustment. I threw a lot at my car few yrs to find out it was mostly a brake issue.

4bar rear metric front with nova lowers, what I have is that a ok starting point? Last test I did it had a push going in....

Might be too stiff if it has Nova Lowers, but, definitely not too stiff for Metrics. Don from Lightening Chassis says 1000 minimum on Metric arms. I ran a 1050 RF on my GRT metric last year. Anything lighter would bottom out.

If you have Nova lowers, you're too heavy. Probably want to be in the 750 - 800 range on the RF.

Here is some good info on the differences of Lowers.

Chevelle 36% Ratio

Nova 30% Ratio

Metric 23% Ratio


Ratio x spring rate = weight at ball joint

for instance.... Chevelle 650 x 36% = 235# at Ball joint

Nova 750 x 30% = 225# at Ball Joint

Metric 1000 x 23% = 230# at Ball joint

So as you can see a 650 with Chevelle lowers and a 1000 with Metric lowers are about equal.

Easiest way to tell if they are Metric or Nova lowers is the measure the spring diameter. Metrics take 5.5" springs, while Novas take 5" springs.

But if they are Novas, I agree that you are way too stiff. 750 in the RF is a good middle of the road starting rate. I typically run a 600 in the RF of my Metric car with Novas, but it is a two link sport mod, so not exactly apples to apples. I have been as low as a 450 in the RF on super slow slick tracks and had some success, so don't be afraid to try some stuff. It all really depends on the track, and how you drive (momentum racers typically run softer RFs than drag racers or stab and steerers), and of course the rest of your setup.

I measured the springs and they are 5.5" springs 900lf 1000rf

Then you're on Metric lowers. You should be close. Is it pushing getting in or in the center?

Sounds like it may be bottoming out and then starting to push, thats what mine did. Try going up to 1050 on RF if it gets worse go down to a 950.

900 left front, 800 to 850 right front. Hike will kill rt front spring, need to check for travel. No more than 4 in on rt front as far as travel with the 800, move up to 850 to help out, but car should turn good with this, and limit hike to 5 in in the left rear with a chain stop of some kind. 8-2 shock on left rear 6-4 on right front mud and 3-5 for slick on right front. 3-5 rt rear all night, 5-3 left front all night. Works for me. If you go to nova, 750 left front ,700 rt front, note if buying, get ub lowers they can use 5 in. or 5 1/2 in springs.
