double sided pinion plate

how thick should a double sided pinion plate be for a 9 inch? putting a j-bar on my car that never had one and would like to get some measurements done so i can put in my frame mount for the j-bar

3/4 steel , aluminum ones are junk

Not sure how thick the steel is.....I'd say 1/2" .............. But I do know the two listed below work. Ran the steel one this year and no sign of it distorting. Ran the aluminum one for two year with no problems. Steel BSB #7036 Aluminum 1" BSB #4039s
