RR Spring Location

Looking for some input on mounting the spring on top of the housing with a RR 4 bar
Better or worse on dry?
Better or worse on tack?

it's bad on every surface.I found the car to be very darty and snapy loose coming out of the corner. I changed it to a slider in front with the shock behind the axle.

Diamond cars are 4 bar both sides with spring on top rr clamped up left rear

Where did you have the shock with the spring in the housing,front? back? on the birdcage or clamped up?

Thanks for the reply,Normally Im LR clamped,RR Zlink with spring on the housing. going to 4 bar both sides,did not like the feel of the
car with the spring on the birdcage when I tried it..... won't soak up bumps very well.

My old car was 4-bar rr with spring on top, shock behind on bc... same thing racin6mod said, darty and snappy loose and horriable on dry slick.... it had a mind of its own sometimes....

the car had the spring on the top of the axle with the shock behind on the bc.

Thanks,do you think that extra wheel travel from the spring being inboard more was the problem with the set up?

just about all pierce cars run spring on top of rear end, exception is the scorpian model which is run on birdcage in front of right rear., but dont let that scare you, I run a scorpian (pierce) with my spring on top and I like it. Seems to let rear roll over more, and more truth on shock travel, floated on birdcage behind. I used to run floated in front on birdcage, never got the feel I wanted untill spring on top worked better for me, car is spring behind on left rear, 4 bar both sides

Are you running a center housing brake bar with that set up?

YES, If you mean lift bar yes, I am not running a 9010 shock but am running a 1 comp. 14 rebound lift bar shock with a 300 pound spring. I get 3.5 to 4 in. of travel, this works well for me.
