We run mostly 3/8 and some 1/2 mile tracks, we have a 18 degree 355 for the 3/8 and a 23 degree 402 for the 1/2 mile. We are trying to cut down on the engine changes, any thoughts on what gear it would take to run the 355 on 1/2 mile and the 402 on the 3/8? Most tracks we run are heavy for heats and slick up for a-main.

have you dyno'd both? The 18 degree should make more power and be better on the bigger track.
We have a 1/2mi measured on the inside and a 5.13 gets you in the 7600 range. It has long straights and pretty tight corners.
Then we have what they call a 3/8's down the road and its turns arent as sharp and it has more bank you only change to like a 5.43-5.33 to get 7600

i am really suprised that is all the 18degree does. Is this a 18x or a clone 18 head?
