    Solid pull bar

I would like some opinions on running a solid pull bar on a 4-4 floated car on a heavy track. We used to try that on a 3 link years ago, driver liked it but it tore up all kinds of stuff, transmissions, mounts etc(but he won his only feature win with it). He would like to try that again, I think it could be too expensive. What about running a heavy spring like a 1450 instead for the same feel. Thanks for the opinions.

Shaw sells a 700-2000 progressive pull bar spring ( or used to).... that should be as close to a "solid" bar as you can get :-)

I bought a used 600-1200 ..... I put a spring spacer in it..... need to check it on the spring checker.... it is probably a 600-1500 now.......

Pm or email if you want to try it....

1450 is a good choice for heavy and moderate tracks, cars are much more consistant with stiff pullbars.

Thanks for the information, not sure what we'll try next to get that feeling he is looking for, going to try a 1225 this week. Got an oid 900-1300 spring somewhere might try that. Guess I could do like JohnnyV and put a spring rubber in it. Thanks again to everyone.
