Squaring Rearend on a older Shaw

Have a buddy that has around a 2000 Shaw modified. Is there any difference on squaring the rearend up in a older Shaw? How should he square it up the right way? I have a 09 and it's setup by what Shaw says in the book. Trying to get him lined out correctly. Thanks
