Z-28 steering box ? 12:1

I am trying to find part number for the Z-28 steering box. 72 camaro.I have heard this is a 12:1 ratio.
My part store has the GM number for a 72 camaro, which is the same as a 72 chevelle.GM PART # 88991224 or A/C Delco # 36-0516509.
They dont show an option for Z-28
Anybody have a part number for Z-28 box?

Look for an 85 z28 with sport suspension. It will be a 12 to 1 but the fittings will be oring type and the splines will be different. It will bolt up

When I was sourcing a quick box I found all the major retailers, Carquest , Napa , etc, had the quick boxes part numbers the same as the slow boxes. The only difference was the input size. We have a undercar specialty wholesaler in California. I went thru them and they ordered the quick box from their supplier in Phoenix. Price was reasonable and the only failure was when I challenged the wall and hung on too tight.

Im a bodyman and get into a lot of wrecks. I have found the Z box in S-10s Jeep wagoneers,Jeep CJ/wrangler.Chevy blazer,chevy WT trucks,Suburbans,Tahoes,GM used them alot. Look for a Z casted on the side,Its in the middle of the box,and you can see it looking from the top.
I get them from a wrecking yard,never paid more then $75. They require a 1.5 to one quickner.
A 2:1 quickner steers like a gokart. Some guys like that. Too Fast for me. The Z box is 3 turns loc to loc. and has what they call hard feel. Great box to race with.

Correct me if i am wrong here but, I dont think the box that is 3 turns lock to lock is a 12:1 ?
I have 2 boxes, 1 is 3 turns lock to lock, the other is 2 1/2 turns lock to lock.Neither of these have a 'Z' on them.
I may be wrong here and these ratio's may not be accurate but here is what i am thinking? The 3 turns lock to lock is 16:1 the 2 1/2 turns lock to lock is 14:1 and i am guessing 2 turns lock to lock is 12:1. That would make the current box i am using 3 turns lock to lock with a 2:1 quickner a final 8:1 ratio. The same as a 2 1/2 turn lock to lock with a 1.5 to 1 quickner?
Does anybody know what a 8:1 (sweet box) box is lock to lock?

Another thread on here says the 8:1 is 2 turns lock to lock.

i do not believe those vehicles will have a fast steering boxes. Those may look like a "Z" box, but I think that is actially a "N" casting.
