Pullbar length

I am looking for some opinions on whether a long or short pull bar is better and why. Anyone know of extremely long or short ones being ran?

Ok, let me ask this question a little differently...

If you were building your own mod and were working on putting in the pull-bar how close would you want the frame mount to the center of gravity of the car from front to back, a little ahead, a little behind, right on and why? Also, if you lower the frame end of the pull-bar does that increase side-bite?

If anyone knows of any tech articles related to this please let me know, I have been searching but not come up with much.
