    Birdcage Selection

I have seen wide and narrow bc's and was wondering which is preferred and why. Also, opinions on which bc's are the best out there. My car is an IMCA mod w/ 9" rear.

    Birdcages

The wide ones is what a lot of builders recommend. I prefer the BSB brand. I asked BSB what the difference was between the wide and narrow ones and they said the wide ones spreads the side load that is pit on the birdcage during suspension movement. I would assume it is stronger. The even sell some bushings to add to the narrow ones to help spread the side load. BUT, I would talk to you chassis builder to see what they recommend first. JMO

Changing my car over to a 4 link this winter and I picked up a set of the Harris roller bearing cages fairly cheap. They seem to be pretty wide in comparrison to others i've seen.
