whats everyones opinion on what is best for cooling? Cut holes in the deck or cut it all out??

When I first started seeing oil coolers mounted on the deck, they all had air scoops. Now it looks like that's out and they are just drilling or punching holes in the deck.

thanks! scoop wouldnt work for me. deck is to high to see over a scoop. holes it is!
